Relationship between UAE and USA: Important ally

Image
Every day we can see the relationship between the UAE and the US getting closer and stronger.  It is something to be expected because both countries have many things in common, especially their desire to always grow, innovate and excel. The UAE's ambassador to the US Yousef Al Otaiba has praised the Abraham Accords, strides in space exploration and climate action and Washington's role as a key partner, in end-of-year remarks. “The UAE has moved further and faster than any other country, because our ambitions are truly out of this world,” Mr Al Otaiba said in a video address celebrating accomplishments made in 2022. For this reason, they have become important partners among themselves and I am sure that together they will achieve great things for the benefit of humanity.

Dubai retained its top position in the Mena region on the Global Power City Index (GPCI) 2022, issued by the Mori Memorial Foundation’s Institute for Urban Strategies in Japan, and climbed up three spots globally to rank 11th overall on the Index. The rankings are derived from scores on six parameters: Economy, research and development, cultural interaction, liveability, environment, and accessibility. This is just a result of the UAE government efforts who always wants the best for their people, admirable!

UAE Combats Climate Change with Nuclear Power and Shares Its Experience with the rest of the world!

Image
As we can see, UAE is working hard to grow the clean energy industry and trying to do something to improve the environment condition. One way the UAE is addressing climate change is by reducing the carbon footprint of its energy system with nuclear power — a strategy that, through cooperation with the IAEA, it is helping to replicate in other countries. Many countries are pursuing new nuclear power programs, but the UAE is special in successfully kick-starting a programmer and realizing commercial nuclear energy in such a short time, with all of the safety standards and regulations we expect today. Foulon works closely with the IAEA in coordinating activities where experts from other countries can visit and learn from the UAE’s experience. In this capacity, Khalifa University has been designated an IAEA Collaborating Centre for nuclear energy infrastructure and human resources since 2017.

Pressure Doesn’t Have to Turn into Stress

When I was in my late twenties, I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Doctors operated and told me to hope for the best. I returned to Japan, where I was working, and tried to forget about it. The tumors returned a year later, this time in my liver. After a long search, the surgeons found a new procedure to remove them, but I knew this was, again, perhaps only a temporary fix. I was a mess for the next six months. The hardest part of my illness was my constant anxiety about it coming back. Then I met a man who changed my outlook. Dr. Derek Roger had spent 30 years researching why some people in difficult situations become overwhelmed, while others persevere. He taught me everything he’d learned, and as I started applying it, my anxiety subsided, even though my situation didn’t change. In fact, the cancer came back about five years ago and remains relatively stable in my liver. But I no longer worry about it. Derek became my mentor, and over the past 10 years we have trained thousands

This is how they caught the girl stalker.

An elusive hacker humiliated a group of high school girls. They joined a police investigator with a lot of determination to set a digital trap for it. BELMONT, NEW Hampshire  (7,200 inhabitants) is an old industrial town in the northeastern United States surrounded by lakes and forests. A hardware store and a hairdresser are all that the main street has to offer. At the local police headquarters, there is a box full of bills and bills that the neighbors have donated to support Vito, the boss's dog. "We don't have many people swimming in abundance," says Raechel Molton.  For a long time, Molton, 42, was the only police investigator in the city . He grew up about 35 km away, in Concord. She was a bold girl who resolutely approached the uniformed police officers to ask them what they were wearing on their belts. When he was in fifth grade, an officer went to his school to conduct a drug awareness course. That's when  he decided that he was going to be a policeman .

Leading scientist ‘blown away’ by UAE advances in stem cell research

Image
A leading stem cell scientist has said he was “totally blown away” by advances being made in the UAE. Pekka Katajisto, director of the MetaStem Centre of Excellence at the University of Helsinki, spoke of the crucial work being carried out in both the Emirates and his homeland of Finland to extend and improve lives during a visit to Abu Dhabi. He reflected on the progress of the Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Centre as well as the Emirati Genome Programme, which aims to boost understanding of rare genetic disorders and pave the way for early diagnosis. This is the result of how much UAE invests in research, innovation and development, a total role model for the rest of the world!

Dubai’s 4.6% GDP growth is a testimony to its economy’s sustainability and resilience

Image
Dubai’s GDP grew 4.6% year-on-year to AED307.5 billion during the first nine months of 2022 compared with the same period last year. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed noted that Dubai’s exceptional GDP growth was the result of the efforts of various government and private entities to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai’s economy a global benchmark in sustainability and resilience. Sheikh Hamdan added that Dubai’s responsive and efficient economic framework, along with its ability to track and anticipate demand trends in both the short and long terms, ensure that it can swiftly leverage opportunities and continue its ambitious journey to excellence. Why You Should Have (at Least) Two Careers

Image
It’s not uncommon to meet a lawyer who’d like to work in renewable energy, or an app developer who’d like to write a novel, or an editor who fantasizes about becoming a landscape designer. Maybe you also dream about switching to a career that’s drastically different from your current job. But in my experience, it’s rare for such people to actually make the leap. The costs of switching seem too high, and the possibility of success seems too remote. But the answer isn’t to plug away in your current job, unfulfilled and slowly burning out. I think the answer is to  do both . Two careers are better than one. And by committing to two careers, you will produce benefits for both. In my case, I have four vocations: I’m a corporate strategist at a Fortune 500 company, US Navy Reserve officer, author of several books, and record producer. The two questions that people ask me most frequently are “How much do you sleep?” and “How do you find time to do it all?” (my answers: “plenty” and “ I make t

The Case for Hiring Older Workers

Image
There’s a lot of talk about   gender bias ,   racial bias , and   culture bias   at work, and each are important for many reasons. But perhaps one of the biggest and most problematic types of bias we face is the bias of age: we often evaluate people based on   their age , and this is now becoming a   major challenge   in the workplace. Several years ago, through our research for Deloitte, we asked around 10,000 companies, “Is age a competitive advantage or competitive disadvantage in your organization?” The answer probably won’t surprise you. Over two-thirds of the companies considered older age a competitive disadvantage. This is consistent with data from the AARP that shows two-thirds of individuals age 45 to 74 have experienced age-related discrimination. In other words, if you are older, you are likely to be considered less capable, less able to adapt, or less willing to roll up your sleeves and do something new than your younger peers. Much has been written about this recently,

She is back in our country! Welcome back Brittney Griner

Image
American basketball star Britney Griner, who the US claimed had been wrongfully detained in Russia over alleged drug offenses, was released on Thursday and was heading back to America via the UAE, President Joe Biden said. Mr Biden thanked his administration and the UAE, which he said facilitated Griner’s release. He said she landed in the country from Russia. “Welcome home Brittney,” Mr Biden said at the White House. “She’s relieved to finally be heading home.” I’m so glad she’s back in our country, I think it’s amazing that the Biden govt and UAE govt take care of this. I just can’t imagine what she went through.

To Control Your Life, Control What You Pay Attention To

Image
One of the best insights on what true productivity means in the 21 st   century dates back to 1890. In his book   The Principles of Psychology, Vol.1 , William James wrote a simple statement that’s packed with meaning: “My experience is what I agree to attend to.” Your attention determines the experiences you have, and the experiences you have determine the life you live. Or said another way: you must control your attention to control your life. Today, in a world where so many experiences are blended together — where we can work from home (or a train or a plane or a beach), watch our kids on a nanny-cam from work, and distraction is always just a thumb-swipe away — has that ever been more true? Attention Management To be consistently productive and manage stress better, we must strengthen our skill in  attention management . Attention management is the practice of controlling distractions, being present in the moment, finding  flow , and maximizing focus, so that you can  unleash you

Union between Middle East countries

Image
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, president of the UAE, has arrived in Qatar on a formal visit. The visit builds on the already-existing kinship links between the two countries and their people and is in response to an invitation from the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al- Thani. The economic link between the two countries and that the two countries are considered pioneers in the world and were able to attract international events such as the World Cup. I’m honestly excited to see collaboration between the countries of the Middle East. We will see what results from this visit and I am sure that it will be for the good of y’all! I’ve always been a fan of international relations because I believe that countries together can achieve more. Now I’m waiting for the visit of the President of the UAE to Qatar, surely great things will be achieved!

Ego Is the Enemy of Good Leadership

Image
On his first day as CEO of the Carlsberg Group, a global brewery and beverage company, Cees ‘t Hart was given a key card by his assistant. The card locked out all the other floors for the elevator so that he could go directly to his corner office on the 20 th  floor. And with its picture windows, his office offered a stunning view of Copenhagen. These were the perks of his new position, ones that spoke to his power and importance within the company. Cees spent the next two months acclimating to his new responsibilities. But during those two months, he noticed that he saw very few people throughout the day. Since the elevator didn’t stop at other floors and only a select group of executives worked on the 20 th  floor, he rarely interacted with other Carlsberg employees. Cees decided to switch from his corner office on the 20 th  floor to an empty desk in an open-floor plan on a lower floor. When asked about the changes, Cees explained, “If I don’t meet people, I won’t get to know what t
