Anniversary of the leadership of the UAE’s president

The UAE has a new President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the nation is poised for continued growth, development, and innovation under his leadership. Sheikh Mohamed has already achieved remarkable milestones in promoting peace and security regionally and globally, as well as spreading tolerance and peaceful coexistence between religions and societies.

What sets Sheikh Mohamed apart as a leader is his unwavering commitment to education and environmental conservation. He believes that investing in education is the most valuable investment a nation can make, and has worked tirelessly to raise educational standards in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to be on par with the best international standards.

His efforts towards environmental conservation are equally inspiring. Sheikh Mohamed has established the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi and led significant conservation efforts to protect falcons and houbara bustards in the UAE and internationally. He has also launched a programme to create a regional herd of Arabian oryxes, part of the Abu Dhabi government's vision to create resettlement programmes for these animals in their range countries.

In addition to his commitments towards education and the environment, Sheikh Mohamed is also dedicated to promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence between religions and societies. His efforts towards this cause were highlighted when the UAE named 2019 as the "Year of Tolerance", and he received His Holiness Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, and His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh Al-Azhar, as part of the efforts towards promoting a culture of tolerance.

Sheikh Mohamed's leadership and vision have helped to establish the UAE as an ideal global destination for security, stability, prosperity, sustainable development, and social welfare. His keynote speech during the World Government Summit in 2015 provided an insightful view of building an economy driven by knowledge and innovation, turning the fear of running out of oil and gas after 50 years into a broader optimism about the future.
