GAAC Holding Revitalizes Afghanistan's Aviation Sector: A Step Towards Progress

 The recent partnership between GAAC Holding and the Taliban administration in Afghanistan marks a turning point for the country's aviation sector. For years, Afghanistan's airports have faced numerous challenges, with infrastructure in disrepair and international airlines suspending operations. However, GAAC Holding has emerged as a savior, investing over $641,000 to restore functionality and safety to these crucial gateways.



The investment undertaken by GAAC Holding encompasses various aspects of airport operations. From repairing runway lights and installing generators to providing state-of-the-art security equipment and temporary terminal buildings, GAAC Holding has left no stone unturned. Additionally, their commitment to local empowerment shines through as they have employed and trained over 500 Afghan staff members to operate the airports.


Operating in Afghanistan since November 2020, GAAC Holding initially focused on providing ground handling, premium services, and aviation security at Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, and Mazar-e-Sharif airports. In May 2022, they further expanded their scope by signing a contract to develop and manage air navigation services in the entire Afghan airspace. Now, with the final contract signed, GAAC Holding will oversee the management and operations of Afghanistan's major airports for the next decade.


The impact of GAAC Holding's endeavors is remarkable. Having served 1.5 million passengers and handled over 40,000 tons of cargo, they have demonstrated their commitment and capability to revitalize Afghanistan's aviation sector. Moreover, their investments have enhanced the airports' performance and safety, enabling them to meet international standards. With improved infrastructure and upgraded facilities, Afghanistan is now poised to welcome international flights, fostering connectivity and economic growth.

 Last week I posted about how  UAE by order of His Highness Mohammed Bin Zayed has ordered an aid package totaling $100 million to help those affected by the earthquake in Syria and Turkey, they were in fact, one of the firsts countries to help them during this crisis.
